I brought my family of 4 for a canoeing experience, first time for the kids ages 9 and 11. Amanda and Brad were awesome! They made us feel very welcomed and found a great beach with shallow water to teach our family. My kids didn’t know how to swim but they ensured all safety measures were in place. They also catered bbq lunch by the fire on the beach to our food requirements. My son really wanted to learn how to make a fire and Brad taught him! We learned about the Indigenous culture and food. As a bonus we also learned kayaking as well!Surely memories that will last a lifetime for kids!

My girlfriend and I came to the Soo for a weekend. A friend had found Thrive on the web and a great rec that was. We opted for the hike around Whitefish Island and had the best experience with Amanda and Brad--especially since I had had an ankle injury some weeks prior. Amanda and Brad are thoughtful and knowledgeable and salt of the earth people who made a rainy day experience a fantastic memory. I cant wait to be back at the Soo to join them on more adventures beyond hiking, and trust me, so will you. Miigwetch!

I myself have had nothing but amazing adventures with the folks at Thrive Tours. My family has gone on a fun fill snowshoe tour of Whitefish Island & most recently a kayaking experience, I couldn't choose which I loved more. Thrive Tours is wonderful!!I work with Amanda and Brad as a contract guide for when they have larger events and need an extra hand. I really love spending days with them and gaining experience in this field. They are two caring, kind, and educated professionals. An experience with them will be both educational and fun!

I would HIGHLY recommend Thrive Tours to anyone - visitors or locals! Even if you’re born and raised in Sault Ste Marie, ON and have land/water areas you visit on your own, I guarantee you will view it through new eyes after sharing an experience with Thrive - their knowledge and wisdom from an Indigenous perspective is invaluable. Right from the start, they made us feel very comfortable - from helping us newbie hikers to know what to wear and bring, to teaching us how to navigate the trails to give us more confidence to go out on our own. This was DEFINITELY the highlight of my 16 year old nephew’s first visit to Sault Ste Marie. He loved Brad and Amanda so much, he wanted to do more! 5 stars from him, too!

My experience with Thrive and Amanda were amazing! They came up toour reserve to take us on a canoeing/kayaking adventure which was incredible and fun, even though I had next to know experience Amanda made me feel super comfortable and confident out on the water! She is very knowledgeable and friendly! Thank you Thrive tours and I can't wait to partake again in the near future!

Our time with Amada and Brad on a Thrive hike was a wonderful experience. We spent about 2 hours hiking in beautiful Hiawatha Park, just a few minutes from Sault Ste. Marie. We learned a great deal about indigenous culture, ways and techniques, some of which we hope to apply on our own. Their song at the end of our hike, along with an explanation of the significance of the drum as connection between us all and the earth was also moving and a real treat! It was a pleasure meet Brad and Amanda and we wish them every success in the future.

Thrive Tours was the best part of our visit to Sault Ste. Marie! Brad and Amanda customized the tour to meet our needs. We took our two dogs and went on a gorgeous hike (despite the rainy weather) where we saw beautiful waterfalls and learned about various indigenous plants and their traditional uses. We loved that we were able to actively participate in different aspects of indigenous culture - we spread asemaa (tobacco) at the beginning of our hike, learned a few words in Ojibwe, and helped keep the beat during a few songs near the lake. Best of all, Brad and Amanda were so open to all of our questions and curiosities - you could really tell that creating a warm, inclusive environment is one of their top priorities! Miigwech, Brad and Amanda, for the wonderful experience!

Amanda and Brad we're the perfect hosts for our afternoon of canoeing, kayaking and providing a wonderful lunch cooked over the fire on the beach. Thanks for the memories and for being accommodating and putting safety first. I hope to take another tour in the near future.
